A Floating Rubber Ducky

While we still had a long way to go before we slept, we just had to stop at Ducky’s Car Wash in Jacksonville, FL to see what the quirky present they received from local college students – a large floating rubber ducky.

After saying goodbye to the Atlantic Ocean, we headed away from the beach to the next town, Jacksonville, FL. While we still had a long way to go before we slept, we just had to stop at Ducky’s Car Wash to see what the quirky present they received from local college students – a large floating rubber ducky.

Tethered to one side of the pond, a large, floating rubber ducky is the central attraction outside this car wash. Ten feet tall, and built by art students at the University of North Florida, this weird attraction (which, by the way, isn’t made out of rubber) took up residence at this car wash in 2015.

It was very odd to see this larger-than-life bath toy serenely floating in a pond near the car wash, and it’s definitely a good spot for a pic. While you can’t actually reach the duck (it is after all in the middle of the pond), you can get great pictures of it from the edge.

Stay tuned for the next weird sight in Jacksonville!
